Christian was admitted to practice as barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of South Australia in February 2010. Christian is also admitted to practice in the High Court of Australia. Prior to establishing Cifuentes Lawyers, Christian worked at the Legal Services Commission of South Australia.
Christian provides legal advice and representation in across family, criminal defence; migration & citizenship, commercial, tax and succession law. He is an approachable, engaging and highly effective lawyer committed to achieving cost-effective solutions for his clients. Christian's legal practice is strongly focused on negotiated outcomes and avoiding litigation if possible. Before becoming a lawyer, Christian worked as a family mediator and in project and policy development in the public sector. Christian also has over five experience working as seasonal law lecturer and tutor.
Christian is committed to making law accessible. He volunteers with community-based legal organisations and provides pro-bono legal assistance to non-for profit community organisations. Christian's academic qualifications include a Bachelor of International Studies and a Bachelor of Law and Legal Practice from Flinders University, and a Master of International Law completed with the Australian National University. Christian speaks Spanish fluently and provides legal services in this language if needed.

Mariana is a highly experienced Migration agent able to provide quality advice on a range of Australian visas including skills, business, partner, parent, humanitarian, global talent and student visas among others. Mariana's experiences extends to preparing appeals in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) in respect to visa refusals, cancellation and revocations as well as preparing briefs for applications for Judicial Review in the Federal Court of Australia. Mariana is also able to provide tailored advice in respect of Citizenship applications and refusals.
Mariana has a particular interest in complex matters relating to visa cancellations, withdrawal of citizenship approvals, protection visas, Schedule 3 and Health waivers, family violence (partner visas) and PIC 4020 bogus documents/misleading information.
Mariana holds a Graduate Certificate in Migration Law and Practice from the Australian National University, as well as a Bachelor and Master Degree in International Studies from the University of South Australia. Mariana is a Member of the Migration Institute of Australia (MIA) and a member of the Migration Club of South Australia. Mariana speaks fluent Spanish and is happy to provide assistance in this language if required.
